Shoot 2 - Progress
This is my progress to date after my second shoot. I have looked at the set of photos and rethought about what photos best explain my new concept. For my third and final shoot I will retake multiple times, the photos that I have chosen from this shoot. From these I will get the most purposeful photos from all the shoots I have done so far

Shoot 2 - Preparation
I have thought about my concept and thinks it needs to be developed further. As I explore the army bases
I want to show its intentional uses and properties, for example:
- Hiding spaces/Hide Out
- Destruction
- Protection
- Escape Routes
Keeping these in consideration i have decided on some new key ideas that I want to show in my final shoot.
These are some ideas that I want to show in my photos:
- Perspective: hiding, looking from the inside out (peeking)
- Emotions: coldness (blue) scared, fear, hope
- Lighting: dark, escape, beam of light (freedom/escape)
To help me achieve these point I decided for my second shoot that I would explore my space further. On another part of the hill there is another section of the army base that is a lot more interesting. This one has a lot more graffiti which I don't particular preferred, but there are a n lot more spaces to photograph. There are numerous rooms that have even more rooms beyond them. The spaces are deeper and darker and reasonably detailed which will give me more to shoot. This base is a lot more worn, brittle and insecure/unsafe though I think this may help me put myself into character (a hiding soldier) which could improve my photos significantly. I will be able to take the photos from the correct perspective and understand what it is I want to show.

Shoot 1 - Progress
Here is my contact sheets from shoot one. I have written on the sheets the following about the photos:
- What ones I like and why
- The positioning and the framing.
- What is not good and why
- The ideas/photos i want to develop
In the last page I have written a large list of things I want to achieve in my third and final shoot. The list describes what I want toachieve in my final photos.
For my first shoot I wanted to just explore the army base and what the space had to offer. My goal wasn't to take any perfect photographs, but to discover all the different areas there were to see and take so basic photographs. This helped me to understand what it is I need to do for my future shoots and how I will make my concept clear in my photos.

Project 1 - Concept
For our project we have to find a space that we can explore photographicly, in order to communicate the concept: the narratives, the politics or the cultural construction of a place. I have chose an old, run down army base on the top of the hill in Shelly Bay, Miramar. I want to take photos of the abanndoned cubby holes and dark rooms that the soldiers used to hide inside during the war. From the beginning i wanted to take photos of a run down abandoned area because i thought it was interesting how something unattractive and imperfect could appear as something beautiful in a photograph.
