I have thought about my concept and thinks it needs to be developed further. As I explore the army bases
I want to show its intentional uses and properties, for example:
- Hiding spaces/Hide Out
- Destruction
- Protection
- Escape Routes
Keeping these in consideration i have decided on some new key ideas that I want to show in my final shoot.
These are some ideas that I want to show in my photos:
- Perspective: hiding, looking from the inside out (peeking)
- Emotions: coldness (blue) scared, fear, hope
- Lighting: dark, escape, beam of light (freedom/escape)
To help me achieve these point I decided for my second shoot that I would explore my space further. On another part of the hill there is another section of the army base that is a lot more interesting. This one has a lot more graffiti which I don't particular preferred, but there are a n lot more spaces to photograph. There are numerous rooms that have even more rooms beyond them. The spaces are deeper and darker and reasonably detailed which will give me more to shoot. This base is a lot more worn, brittle and insecure/unsafe though I think this may help me put myself into character (a hiding soldier) which could improve my photos significantly. I will be able to take the photos from the correct perspective and understand what it is I want to show.
